What
ages
are
the
dancers
at
In
Motion?

Our
youngest
dancer
can
begin
at
age
2
1/2,
as
long
as
he/she
turns
3
no
later
than
January
of
the
dance
year.
When
children
start
this
young,
it
is
very
important
that
the
child
is
potty
trained
and
comfortable
with
being
away
from
their
parent
for
the
entire
class.
It
is
best
if
parents
of
this
age
child
not
be
in
the
lobby
waiting
area
until
just
when
class
is
over.
Of
course,
if
needed,
parents
arrange
for
the
studio
to
have
a
phone
number
they
can
reach
you
at
if
needed.

What
will
the
3-4
year
olds
learn
in
Pre-Ballet
I?

A:
|
We
will
work
on
locomotor
skills,
pre-ballet,
creative
movement,
and
social
interaction.
Sometimes
young
children
may
enjoy
the
rhythms
of
music
at
home,
but
it
takes
time
for
some
of
them
to
be
ready
for
organized
group
activity.
At
this
age
it
varies
a
lot
from
child
to
child
when
they
are
ready.
In
class,
the
instructor
will
encourage
each
child
to
join
in
and
have
fun
and
help
them
become
a
part
of
the
class.

Can
I
stay
in
the
lobby
area
and
watch
my
child
while
class
is
in
session?
|

A:

The
lobby
area
will
never
be
closed.
However
please
keep
talking
and
noises
down
to
a
minimum.
Periodically
we
will
have
the
curtain
open
for
viewing.
This
will
be
based
on
the
classes
ability
as
a
whole
to
focus
on
the
teacher,
dancing,
and
the
ability
to
not
stop
listening
and
watching
who
is
in
the
lobby.
It
can
be
distracting
for
those
dancing...
and
our
goal
at
In
Motion
is
to
make
every
moment
of
class
count!
If
you
have
any
concerns
about
your
child's
dancing,
please
fee
free
to
make
arrangements
for
a
parent
meeting.

What
dance
apparel
and
shoes
are
required
for
my
child?
|
|
A:
|
A
list
of
required shoes
for
each class
can
be
found
under
shoes.
If your child already owns a similar shoe for class, he/she may wear them through
April 1. At that time, so
that
we
all
match
at
recital
time,
you will be required to purchase the correct shoe. Apparel may be
purchased
at
our
studio,
or
at
any
retail
company
of
your
choice. |

What
is
your
competition
team,
and
how
do
I
enroll
my
child?

Our
competition
team
is
referred
to
as
"Dance
Company."
We
have
all
ages
participate.
Membership
is
by
invitation
only,
however
if
you
have
discussed
this
with
your
child
and
both
of
you
are
interested,
let
the
director
know
and
we
can
arrange
an
evaluation
of your
child.
